inspiring entrepreneurship

The entrepreneurial drive and spirit in Madagascar is like no other. With majority of the population becoming entrepreneurs simply by taking on traditional jobs in agriculture and tourism or by owning their own market stool or tuk tuk. Having acknowledged this drive in the people we wanted to help the locals grow their businesses and start ones in areas that they are passionate about.

Meet DJAMEL

Djamel (pictured on the right) is an incredible entrepreneur. Our founder met him back in 2019, when he was an English language students and every class he would ask to watch football on her phone! Since they met Djamel has worked hard, he got awarded a scholarship to go to university, started his tourism business and has a fledgling music company with his brother. He is also one of our English teachers and was instrumental in the TSAP Travel journey. Meanwhile, he is simply on a mission to support those who are less understood within the Malagasy community.

Meet Gladis

Gladis (pictured on the left with changemakers Patrick and Yasmine) is a 23 year-old entrepreneur and tour guide. Our CEO met Gladis back in 2019 when she worked at Tamana (the local hostel). Unfortunately, due to the pandemic Gladis, like many others, lost her job. As a result, she decided to join the family vanilla business and now has her own vanilla plantation and sell the vanilla to tourists. She supports the company and its growth through working as a tour guide on the island. TSAP Travel wants to help Gladis and vanilla get even further through exporting her vanilla. Yasmine helped Gladis create a business plan and website and Patrick filmed and edited a video recipe to share with her customers.
