Eco Brick Project

In Madagascar there are many sustainable practices from the extensive use and reuse of glass bottles to the use of woven bags for fruit and veg from the market. However, there isn’t really a waste management system in place. The skips outside the market get full to the brim every evening and large amounts of rubbish end up in the Indian Ocean.

From what we know there isn’t a system for recycling and a lot of the plastic they do consume (sweet wrappers, packaging and plastic bags) aren’t traditionally recyclable. As a result, we have decided to launch an Eco-Brick Project, where we encourage the locals to stuff their used and unwanted plastic bottles with plastic to make eco-bricks.

TSAP Travel is then going to use these eco-bricks to make desks and chairs for local schools and use them to aid in the creation of our Animal Welfare Centre.

our first ever beach clean was a huge success with over 42 people in attendence and eleven 130lt black bags filled!
